Our five week Makers’ Residency program ended on a high last week as creative collective Cool Shit took over Hanbury Street with their mammoth inflatable Snoop Dogg Hot Dogs.

We also welcomed the amazing Big Apple Hot Dogs to the agency forecourt on Friday to dish out tasty bangers alongside their inflatable counterparts.

The event marked a triumphant end to this year’s Makers’ Residency, which saw local makers Wilfrid Wood, Kelly Anna, Worm, Matt Cooper, Candy Mechanics and Cool Shit create awesome stuff in our public-facing window. Massive thanks to producer Dee Fenning and the rest of the W+K team in making this year’s Residency a huge success.

This week saw the reopening of Makers’ Residency, a curated creative workspace in our public-facing window in east London.

Starting this week and running until November 23, we’re collaborating with six London-based makers who will be using the Hanbury Street space to create, live in front of the public.

This year’s Makers’ Residency is kicking off with sculpture artist Wilfrid Wood (Spitting Image), who’ll be inviting members of the public for a live, 30-minute portrait sculpting.

From October 22, passersby will be able to watch London-based multimedia designer Kelly Anna at work, while the following week will see floral design studio Worm create a Halloween-themed installation.

The fourth maker, taking up residency from November 5, is stop-motion animator Matthew Cooper, who will be followed by 3D chocolate printers, Candy Mechanics. Finally, from November 19, Cool Shit will be bringing their giant inflatable expertise to the space.
