Welcome to Optimism

W+K at Advertising Week Europe

Last week we descended upon Advertising Week Europe, kicking off on Monday with ECD Iain Tait taking to the NextGen stage with young creative Rachel Clancy to discuss her journey into the industry including the chaos, creativity and concussion brought on by The Kennedys initiative.

ECD Tony and Formula 1’s Director of Marketing Ellie Norman presented all things Formula 1 on Weds, taking the audience behind the scenes on the brand’s new visual identity and showcasing our latest work, Engineered Insanity, on Picturehouse Central’s biggest screen.

Last but not least, global COO Neil spoke on brand building in a post-advertising world, before being grilled in a quick-fire Q&A.

Nike Air Max Day

Yesterday marked Air Max Day, a global celebration of Nike’s very first Air Max iteration, launched on March 26 1987. We celebrated by setting up a personalised live screen printing workshop in the agency basement. Everyone was invited to design and hand-print their own Air Max t-shirts, choosing from eight unique designs, created by Tobias Bschorr, Tom Pounder, Jeng Au, Ben Shaffery, Will Lancaster, Rachel Clancy, Mark Shanley and Karen Jane.
A big thanks to screen printing studio 3rd Rail Clothing and to W+K’s Rose Fairley, KJ and Mark Shanley for putting the day together.
