W+K Design visualises World Cup highlight

To celebrate a massively successful World Cup, It’s Nice That asked us to mark our favourite moment through a creative lens.

Interactive Designer Tom Pounder and W+K Design celebrated the England Warm-Up Kit with an infinitely-looping GIF of the iconic gradient pattern.

Tom told the publication: “Russia 2018 allowed England to escape the choke hold of nostalgia and finally look forwards as a footballing nation. The England Warm-up Shirt is the pure embodiment of this new era and it is the shirt by which this World Cup campaign will be remembered. It draws from the past but looks to the future. It represents the evolution of greatness, through heritage not nostalgia. It is a gradient, expressing change and diversity.”

Nike Football pays tribute to the stellar work of England’s World Cup 2018 squad with Believe as One. The social spot is directed by Sam Piling through Pulse Films, with editing from Stitch and sound by 750MPH.
