Since 2014, we’ve raised almost £90k for St Joseph’s Hospice with Cheryl’s Walk, an annual 10km trek across east London in memory of our colleague and friend Cheryl Rogers. Despite the lockdown, we’re still raising much needed funds for the local hospice by ‘walking a smile’.

Cheryl Rogers worked at W+K London for twelve years and embodied the agency’s personality; she was an unstoppable ball of creative energy, game for a laugh and optimist extraordinaire. When she sadly passed away we wanted to do something to keep her part of the agency and to do some good for the hospice that gave her such great care, St Joseph’s.

Every year we head out on a sunny May afternoon, wearing bright t-shirts for a stroll around Cheryl’s ‘hood and raise some cash. Since Cheryl died in 2014, we’ve raised £89k in her memory. Our aim this year is to get to the £100k mark.

This year’s event is #WalkASmile. On May 29, everyone from the agency will walk 2km or more and create the shape of a smile on a map, sharing the result to instagram.com/wk_ldn.

The hospice has never needed our help more than now – they’ve been severely impacted by COVID-19, so it would be brilliant to be able to raise lots of money for them at a time when they’re so stretched and have seen many sources of fundraising lost.
