Makers’ Residency launches third season
Makers’ Residency, our curated creative workspace, has opened for its third season. The public-facing east London window in Hanbury Street is playing host to a wealth of creative talent and kicked off with anonymous street artist SpY who subverted the CCTV camera with a rhythmic installation. The second Maker was acclaimed art director Pablo Rochat, while set design duo Isabel+Helen showcased a collection of their investigations into circular movement and repetitive cycles via moving prototypes and tests straight from their studio.
From today (October 7), the window will be taken over by a giant interactive version of the World Record Egg, Instagram’s most famous post. In the lead up to World Mental Health Day on October 10, the replica of the egg will be accompanied by an interactive element inviting passers by to share something no-one knows about them in a bid to encourage people to open up.
Our ECD Tony said: “We’re building on the success of last years Residency and continuing to showcase the talents of Makers – true creatives who use their hands to create and inspire.”
