Summer Party 2006

Last Thursday night we all trooped off to The Lock Tavern in Camden for our summer party. People seemed to put the 1 hour long coach journey from east London to Camden behind them once they got to the bar.

After a few lager shandies and burgers, it was time for the quiz. Mick was Quizmaster. Here he is holding court.

(In one of the rounds, various secrets were revealed about people in the agency. For the sake of anonymity we won’t reveal who was caught in flagrante in the padded cell one weekend by a colleague. Bless her.)

The losing team had to pole dance on the street. Here are Alex, Tapper, Rebecca and Tony – our very own Cabaret of Angels – scaring (or is that scarring?)the locals.

DJ Twat provided the music through the night.

The rest of the night passed off quietly, with no incidents involving bouncers, trouser-swappng or shenanigans of any sort.

Guardian Pitch

Well, we’ve just finished our pitch for the Guardian.

Guardian20060801

We’ve put in some serious hours over the last few weeks (since the last round) and we’re really proud of what we put together.  We were up until 6am last night crossing our t’s.  Now we’re crossing our fingers.

The meeting itself was a great team effort.  Adam made beautiful work of the trickiest DVD menu of all time.  I (Stuart) started rambling about Castro and Venezuela, for some reason.  Tony knocked Alan Rusbridger’s pencil on the floor and  Michael’s jumper exactly matched the colour palette of our charts (how’s that for commitment to the work?).

And a ginormously humungous (in-joke, sorry) thanks goes to everyone else who put in so much effort to make it all come together.

It was one of those pitches where our love of the brand definitely spilled onto the page.  In a good way.
