Welcome to Optimism

Mel and The Clientele on tour

Mel

In her spare time Mel Draisey (above) is an assistant in our creative department. In real life, she’s currently on tour in the US with her band the Clientele. New album God Save the Clientele now available. 5 star review on Amazon says: "The music also benefits from the beautiful voice and piano  of new member Mel Draisey".

Mel writes:

I’m now in LA, we did a radio session for KCRW yesterday and had our (nearly) sold out gig at the LA Knitting Factory last night recorded as it’s also going to be on a radio station.

Off to small town Visalia tonight, had a great time there last time, so different to tomorrow night though which is going to be at San Francisco’sGreat American Music Hall.  Apparently it’s sold out which is great news for us!

Have the Portland gig in a few days. I think half the (Wieden + Kennedy Portland) office out there may be coming, and I think Eric from over there is going to film the whole gig. Not too many gins for me then…..

Well, looking forward to seeing you all soon!

One of our radio things….www.kcrw.com on their ‘Morning becomes Eclectic’ show, listen here.

New face

This week, we’ve welcomed Laura Quinn into our collective company bosom. This is she:

Laura

Laura has joined us from United, and will be working in account management, on Nokia and Orange. Not that we’re pigeon-holing her into a category, or anything.

She has a lot in common with Lisa Stansfield. Both are from Rochdale, both commend themselves to the eye and both have been around the world (and I, I, I).

Suit yourselves.
