Welcome to Optimism

WKFC

'Wieden + Kennedy FC' rose to the occasion last night, away at Mile End Park, and knocked 'What If FC' off their pedestal (after our previous loss to them).

After some wise words from manager Capello, the team huddled together for what would be an epic match.  But we soon realised it was more than just a game of footy.  It was war; W+K vs What If.  Advertising vs. Innovation.  Nike vs Adidas.  90 minutes of blood, sweat and tears from both sides.  Benny E scored our first, lobbing the keeper from 30 yards which saw us go comfortably into the second half 1-0 up.  Then James Mc, Dom T, and Steve B each added to the score sheet whilst 'What If FC' managed to sneak in a couple of consolation goals.

Everyone played well, but a special mention to our new keeper Nick L, Karelle and David S for being so solid at the back, Skipper Shay for some decent assists and our man of the match Robbie for working his socks off in midfield.

Final whistle – W+K FC 4, What If FC 2.  Our worthy opponents can only be asking themselves one quesiton this morning, What If??!  We play in again in February 2010…. fans / groupies welcome.

Honda ‘Everything’

Our new film for Honda, 'Everything', breaks this week during the premiere of James Cameron's 'Avatar'.  The film showcases the breadth of Honda's engineering experience; from ATVs, to marine engines, to motorcycles, and the humanoid robot, ASIMO.  The film highlights how Honda has distilled that varied knowledge and expertise into the cars it makes today – focusing in particular on the British-built Civic.

The film, directed by Scott Lyon, was shot over five days on a high security Spanish test track, on water and in Honda's UK training facility – the Honda Institute.  Edited by Richard Orrick, there are 972 edits over 17 video layers, making each section essentially an edit in itself.  The soundtrack is 'Atlas' by Battles, which has been rearranged to fit to the picture and reflect the style of editing used for the advert.  The sound designer, BAFTA award-winning Martin Hernandez, has worked on films including Babel, Pan's Labyrinth and 21 Grams.

The film will air on UK TV on 18th January 2010.

Thank you to Sam, Chris, Tony, Kim, Anna, Ryan and Laura
