gigs at w+k portland
I was impressed and not a little jealous to hear about Wieden + Kennedy Lunchbox, a series of gigs in the atrium at W+K Portland. During the next few months WK will be exposing national, local, and in-house talent. These ‘showcases’, sponsored by the Planning Department, will be approximately 20 minutes of music followed by a 10 minute Q & A session. The first show,took place last Thursday and was the excellent Art Brut vs.The Cold War Kids.
Forthcoming Lunchbox performances include Ladytron, Band of Horses, The Rapture, Cut Chemist, Bloc Party, and more. Not a bad line-up. Not to be outdone, we have an in-house showcase gig in London ourselves this Thursday, by Fink. It’ll be short acoustic set as we don’t want to disturb the neighbours. I can’t really see us being able to put on Art Brut here.
