Thursday saw the kick off of Tent London (you can go and see it at the Truman Brewery off

Brick Lane).

Emeco were showing off their recently launched chair. Norman Foster liked the way Emeco made their 10-06 chair and Emeco liked the way he designed buildings. A friendship was born. An idea concieved. The 20-06. The only thing left for us to do was to was to set the stand up, a huge helium filled balloon, a 380kg anchor and of course two Foster designed Emeco 20-06 chairs.

Designed to be light the chair weighs only 7lbs.

But light doesn’t mean lightweight, the chair is made by hand through a 77 step process using 80% recycled aluminum. So it’s strong. Strong enough to hold 1000lbs, or a very heavy anchor.

And we have our own exhibition  in our window.

Anchors Away

So it was off to deepest darkest Suffolk on Thursday morning to meet Jim the Anchor man. We are getting ready for our latest Emeco Test at Tent which is part of London Design Week at the Truman Brewery.

We needed to source a big, old anchor. And when I say big I mean HUGE! Our sources found us Jim Dines the man with a vast number of anchors of all shapes and sizes. You can find Jim at www.filmafloat.com.

We don’t want to give too much away at this point. All we will say is come and see us at Tent. The Emeco exhibition space is A39 in the Truman Brewery. Tent runs from 20-23rd September.

Thanks Jim
