Last Friday I had the chance to visit FFresh
2009, the student moving image festival of Wales at Aberystwyth University.

Hannah James, our Visit Wales client and I
were there to brief the film students from the various Welsh universities and
colleges on the Shoot Wales film competition. Visit Wales have invited students
to submit a 3 minute film that works into our Holidays Unpackaged campaign. The
winning films will get showcased with full credit on the Visit Wales site and
win career development cash as well as a weeks work experience at W+K London
for the winning director and producer.

If you’re a student or graduate filmmaker from a Welsh
university and you fancy entering you can find all the entry details here:

We’re looking forward to seeing what the
students come up with.

On Wednesday evening we played host to Lydia
Shaw and the latest group of D&AD workshop students. I had set the guys Run
London 2009 as the brief. The Oval room walls were covered with ideas, so many
in fact that we ran out of wall and time. But the top prizes of W+K speedboats (I wish)
went to Sam McCluskey and Rory Hall for their Silent Run campaign. Megan and
Giulia also produced an interesting idea, Charge London, where by the 35 000
runners would generate electricity and charge huge messages around the city.
