Wieden + Kennedy selected as lead agency for Tesco

Tesco has announced the appointment of Wieden + Kennedy as its new lead creative and strategic agency following a competitive pitch.

The pitch process was handled by intermediary consultancy Oystercatchers.

Matt Atkinson, Group Marketing and Digital Officer at Tesco said, “We are delighted to have appointed W+ K after a very competitive pitch process. Good news at W+K – the lovely Matt Owen has joined us a permanent member of the account management crew.

Matt has done a great job freelancing over the past few months getting stuck in on Nike and learning the ropes of agency life. He's proven to be a fast learner and a top bloke. So he now joins us as an Account Manager proper – working on Finlandia and Three. We won't forget this means he owes us a secret at the next agency meeting…
