Welcome to Optimism

mabel the pug gets seriously serious for Christmas

Remember Mabel the pug? Big eyes, adorable furry face… birthday cake hat? Of course you do. Well she's back, riding a sleigh through a seriously snowy winter scene, to wish internetters a merry Christmas and celebrate the fact that Three are still seriously serious about Pay As You Go.

We first introduced Mabel to the public a couple of months ago to help Three announce the launch of their revolutionary and beautifully simple approach to PAYG SIMS – that's 3p/minute, 2p/text, 1p/MB of data, for everyone all the time – in a fittingly epic and seriously silly way.

Now that Christmas is on the horizon, we've brought Mabel back to bring a bit of festive silliness to a seriously good message, decked out in reindeer antlers, fairy lights and her very own tiny fair isle jumper. The spot was directed by Randy Krallman and is supported by print, in-store and OOH executions.

Here she is wishing late night shoppers on Oxford Street a merry Christmas:

a new curator: Satsuki Shibuya

As part of our Pinterest series for Curate, we invited the artist and Pinfluencer Satsuki Shibuya to curate a Board in response to the following question:

Which exhibition, imagined or real, would be your choice as the most inspiring ever?

Through her response 'SEEmingly SO', Satsuki asks the viewer to question their perspective of what art means and to use the act of looking to redefine it.

01

"Within Japanese culture, craftsmanship is regarded as an art form where visual beauty and functionality combine to create 'every-day art.'"

02

Born and raised in the tree-filled foothills of LA, Satsuki’s escapades have included studying music at the university of southern California and graphic design at Otis College of Art and Design, pursuing a career as a singer/songwriter, delving into hand processes such as pattern design and sewing, launching a design studio, as well as raising a dog that loves treats and naps a little too much.
