Wieden+Kennedy London has been named as The Drum's top indepdendent advertising agency of 2013 in its annual Independent Agencies Census, which is based on a broad range of categories including profitability, growth, employee size and turnover, as well as client rankings.

According to The Drum, “Wieden + Kennedy has had another brilliant year with its viral smash Dancing Pony, created for Three Mobile, knocking Harlem Shake off the number on slot and notching up 7m views to date. The agency has had a solid year, picking up a global account win for Mondelez, leading to it climbing to 19th place in the UK’s top 30 agencies by billings, according to Nielsen, no mean feat for one of the few remaining independent agencies.”

The end of the year is the perfect occasion to take some time and look back at the past twelve months, reflecting on the year's highs and lows and making some resolutions for the coming year.

W+K creative director Scott Dungate was asked by our friends over at Beak Street Bugle to take a misty-eyed look back at "the year that was" in 2013 along with Micky Tudor of CHI. As editor Alex Reeves puts it, "the pair didn’t quite agree, but between them, there is can no doubt a lot of wisdom to be found."
