Wales wins

So we went to the CIMTIG awards last night – no idea what it stands for but it’s the travel awards for the best of the best, and the Wales work was as you imagine the best. We won silver and gold for the press ads Wooly Whites and Lobster, best press campaign, best TV ad for Mud, and importantly best multi-media campaign. The best thing about winning these awards is what it means to our clients at Visit Wales: it means that on a relatively small budget they have taken on the likes of BA, Virgin, Australia, etc and won. So a big well done to Ben and Matt, Lucy and Dazza, Mr Tapper, Rebecca Herbert and everyone else who works on Visit Wales. Hurrah!

Sometimes a pitch just keeps on and on for week after week with no decision. (I could be wrong but I still don’t think there’s been an appointment on the Yell pitch from which we were eliminated on June 29th.

And then sometimes, you get a lucky, lucky break and you’re awarded a piece of business without a pitch. That’s what just happened to us with Arla Foods who, following our successful pitch for Lurpak, have awarded us in addition the account for Cravendale, the UK’s leading branded milk. Good feeling. It’s like putting on your cold weather coat for the first time that year and finding you left money in the pocket the previous winter.

Cravendale has been known for the ‘Tastes so good the cows want it back’ campaign from DDB. It’s likley that we’ll be replacing this with a new direction.
