Welcome to Optimism

where business is never as usual

Lisa, Ryan and Andy
have just got back from two days of brand planning with Cravendale at Alton Towers. A
surprising, irreverent brand deserves a surprising venue to inspire the team.

In between the
workshops on brand vision, tone of voice and key objectives for next
year we all (clients and other agencies as well) managed to find time
to get in all the big rides at the park and marvel at the fact that to
get to the conference facilities you had to walk through the water park
where kids and parents were busy throwing themselves down slides, etc.

Here is Ryan looking a little pensive before going on the ‘Oblivion’.

Oh and also love the conference facilities strap line, maybe a a new one for the Agency? ‘Where business is NEVER as usual’. (Ahem.)

Jumper
According to UTalkMarketing, the Honda Accord ‘Jump’ ad is the people’s choice. Well, this week, anyway.

They say:

The ad from Wieden + Kennedy followed the first ever live
TV commercial which was aired on Channel 4 and labelled an ‘ad-vent’ –
an innovative advertising event.

The
ad came tops in the UTalkMarketing People’s Choice – our weekly poll,
held in collaboration with OMD Snapshots where we ask 1,000 members of
the public to vote for their favourite adverts currently in the
marketplace.

It received almost one-quarter (24 per cent) of the
votes, placing it ahead of the first runner-up, when participants were
asked, ‘Which of the adverts made you want to buy the product or
service advertised?’

Let’s hope all those 24% put their money where their survey response is and get down their local Honda dealer and buy an Accord, sharpish.
