Welcome to Optimism

Gav

This week we welcome Gavin Gordon-Rogers to the wonderful world of Wieden.
Here's who he is:

Gavin initially started out directing music videos, then got into advertising by freelancing at numerous traditional  agencies from 1996, until he joined Glue in 2002. In March 2005 he moved to Agency Republic, and in February 2007 he became  Creative Director there. Gav became Executive Creative Director the following year. Various publications voted Agency Republic the best digital agency in the years that followed. Five times, in fact.

He's got a blog. And he describes himself as a 'mutant farmer' on Twitter.

And now he's here, doing many things of an Interactive Creative Direction nature.  He''s also going to be Andy Cameron's 'lieutenant' (the uniform is in the wash at the moment)

A big hello, привет, cześć and sveiki to Roman Dobzanskis who is joining us as a senior creative technologist responsible for all things web. Yes, he does speak those languages, and more besides.
Really.

Before coming to W+K Romans was CTO at a hot new web start up in the publishing world, and before that Head of Creative Tech at Saatchi & Saatchi London, working on web and mobile applications across all client accounts, doing pitches, helping with new business and generally building up the digital capability in the agency.

Romans studied computer science in Warsaw and then studied the semantic web – also known as web 3.0 – in Sheffield. He even published a learned paper on the semantic web in the International Journal of
Knowledge and Systems Science before leaving it all behind for the bright lights of the London advertising world. Our gain is the semantic web's loss.

All this and he's got a lovely tan because he's just come back from a 2 month honeymoon in the far east.
