Wieden+Kennedy London has been appointed as new creative agency for English crisp and snack maker Tyrrells, without a competitive pitch. The agency will lead creative communications starting immediately. The decision to appoint a new creative agency comes after the appointment of new marketing director, Jocelyn McNulty.
The company is famous for its hand-cooked English crisps, which are made in small batches on their Herefordshire farm using skin-on local potatoes and all-natural ingredients. Since its founding in 2002, Tyrrells has expanded its range to include popcorn, tortilla chips and nibbles. Tyrrells’ award-winning crisps are sold internationally in 10 key markets.
Jocelyn McNulty, Tyrrells Marketing Director, says: “Wieden + Kennedy is a creative agency at the very top of its game and joins our other specialist agencies: Big Fish who leads our Pack Design and Spider who handle our PR giving us a premier division marketing support team. Wieden + Kennedy really seem to understand the Tyrrells brand – especially when they were knee deep in mud on our Herefordshire potato farm! We are delighted to be working with them.”
Neil Christie, Managing Director of Wieden+Kennedy London, comments “I love Tyrrells. Especially the sweet chilli and red pepper flavour. This win means I can now eat loads of them and call it work.”
