The agency had a great run at yesterday’s NABS 5-a-side competition.  After negotiating our way out of a tricky group stage, Our Brave Boys made it all the way to the quarter-finals before succumbing to a strong J. C. Decaux side.  To get this far in our debut appearance in a competition containing 60 teams is quite an achievement (really) and gives us something to build on next time around.

Special thanks to Bob who’s been recently been working with Guy ‘Featherlite’ Featherstone in our design department and was lethal up front, Shay ‘Stadium’  Reading for his energy and tenacity, Stuart ‘Stewbacca’ Harkness for his deft touches and pinpoint passes, Frere ‘100 acre’ Woods for sorting out all the admin and Captain Matt ‘biffer’ Boffey for leading the team to victory. Nearly.

summer party

Thursday felt like the hottest day of the year so far in London – oppressively sweltering. Perfect timing for us to have our summer party in the basement. We originally planned it as a ‘housewarming’ for the new offices but by the time we got round to having it we had a few other things to celebrate: IPA Agency of the Year, a string of new biz wins (Pizza Hut, Sky One, EA Games, Yakult) and a raft of awards including, in the last couple of weeks, Grand Prix at Cannes and Grand Prix at the Midsummer Awards.

We had a big turn out, with somewhere over 200 people turning up to check out our new home and get sweaty. We had former W+K-er James Guy on the decks and guests were a mix of clients, contacts, friends, neighbours and gatecrashers. The party must have been a success because we got through 600 beers by 9.00pm, completely ran out of booze twice and ultimately had the council round threatening us with a court order if we didn’t turn the music off. (Not that we were being too anti-social, this was at about 11.00pm.)

Such a good night we seem to have forgotten to take any photos.
