Welcome to Optimism

coming of the uberproducer

Jools_bump

There’s been much talk in this fast-moving, converging business about the possible need for ‘super-producers’ who can apply production skills across mutliple channels – broadcast, interactive, print, etc. But where to find these rare, mulit-skilled creatures?  At wieden + kennedy lodnon we have taken the radical step of breeding our own. Shown above, the forthcoming fruit of the union of Julia Methold (head of broadcast production) and Mick Bailey (head of creative services). Obviously it’ll be a few years before we can get this uber-producer on the job, but (s)he will be genetically engineered for production multi-tasking

happy (early) halloween – alex in japan

Some of the Honda team are over in Japan at the moment as part of our never ending quest to learn more and more about the world of Honda and also spending some time in the W+K Tokyo Office.

At Motegi, hallowed turf of Honda Racing and home of the Historical Collection Hall, we stumbled across Asimo looking pretty unimpressed dressed up as a witch-type thing.

Asimo says ‘happy Halloween’.

Alex (far right) along with Hutch and Driscoll from the Tokyo office then climbed a (very small) mountain and waved our hands in the air like we just didn’t care, putting the wind up the local school kids (although one of them did call Alex a "handsome man", which he took on the chin).

We also were lucky enough to be taken round part of the 400 acre site by the park ranger – Ryuichiro Sakino, he looks a bit scared in this picture though.

Finally, this toilet is called the NSX Toilet. As in the car.

We can’t really say much more about it, as it’s an experiment of sorts. But don’t be surprised if it crops up in an ad somewhere in the future.
