Yesterday we were in Batvik, by the sea, west of Helsinki for a meeting with Nokia. Nokia has a property there – a group of old houses surrounded by forest that they use for meetings. It was a spectacular setting as the snow started to fall that morning.

The main manor house is apparently a former base for Russian officers stationed during their occupation of the territory.

COO Dave Luhr and W+K China Planning Director Nick Barham experience the bracing conditions of a Finnish December. Nick had come from Beijing without packing a woolly jumper.

Leaving Batvik – to the Batvikmobile!

At the APG Creative Planning Awards last night, we won a Silver for Lurpak. Congratulations go to Matt Boffey, who authored the paper.  If anyone out there is keen to read the paper, let me know and I’ll post a link on here.

As a network, we did pretty well overall at the APG Awards.  W+K Amsterdam won a Gold, a Silver &
a Bronze (one for Coca-Cola and two for Nike).
