Welcome to Optimism

new nokia ‘dance’ commercial

Wieden + Kennedy, in collaboration with directors Karni and Saul, has created a new global TV spot for Nokia, celebrating phone photo sharing.

Composed entirely from still images, the Nokia ‘Dance’ spot was designed to show the excitement and fun of photo sharing, via mms and Bluetooth. Each still image and human figure lines up with the following character, creating a dance composed of hundreds of individual poses.

The music track was composed using eclectic samples and sounds from around the world, to reflect the radio recording and sharing capabilities of the Nokia 5000.

You can spot a few W+K employees in there.

thanks for the socks

Socks

Our new window display ‘Thank you for your socks’ went live today in our Hanbury Street window.

It’s a magic washing line will help the London based charity ‘Broadway’ for homelessness.  It grows every time our Donna hangs up a pair of socks.

You may take them for granted but you’d be amazed at the difference a clean pair of socks can make to a homeless person. Imagine wearing a wet pair weeks on end without being able to change them. The charity Broadway has a drop in center where a homeless person can go, shower and get a clean pair of socks, along with other help they may need. But there’s a huge shortage of socks to give out and we want to help.

So why not help us and donate some socks? Preferably a clean pair of men’s socks, old or new. We want to create London’s largest collection and see the magic washing line grow.

If you're passing our London office (!6 Hanbury Street, E1 6QR) please drop them into the sock drop box next to the window. Or you can post your socks to Donna at the same address.
