Yesterday was a night of tears, laughter and excessive drinking as we said, not goodbye, but au revoir to two W+K stars: Stuart Smith (planning director) and Simon Summerscales (the fat controller). Each of them has made a huge contribution to the success of the agency in the past few years and the place won't be the same without them. Stuart, as previously posted here, is leaving to join Google and help set up Google Lab in New York. Simon is taking six months off to spend with his family travelling. The tributes paid to them last night were many and varied and all heartfelt. They've made a huge impact on our work, our clients and our people. I won't go through it all here for fear of seeming mawkish. (We're an emotional bunch!) But, wherever they go, I think they would agree that they'll always be W+K people. Thanks, Stu. Thanks, Simon. You'll be missed.
