Last weekend, the Nike team spent Sunday afternoon 'Paula Chasing' in NikeTown London. It's W+K and AKQA's latest tactical campaign for Nike running, which focuses on the New York
marathon that Paula Radcliffe ran, and won, last weekend (Go Paula!) 

As Paula stood on the starting line in Staten Island
, NikeTown London was ready to start a race of its own…

27 NikeTown London runners attempted to match her pace from the other side of the pond.  Each ran a mile on “Paula chasing” treadmills hoping that, between them, they might “cross the line” before her. Weekend shoppers gathered to watch as the tag team battled to outpace Paula in front of a live screening of the NY race. The event guest starred W+K’s very own Robbie who stepped up to take on
Britain’s finest female marathon runner.

2 hours 23 minutes and 56 seconds later, Paula claimed her third NYC crown just before receiving a well deserved hug from her daughter, Isla.  Those chasing her in both Manhattan and
London lagged behind. 

At the same time, we set a 'Paula Chasing' challenge on Nikeplus.com which was featured in our celebratory press ad on Monday morning. 

Runners can register to try to match her
pace over 5km. There are four weeks to log your fastest run, before the fastest five men and five women are invited to chase Paula in the flesh – running 5km with her through London.
