Welcome to Optimism

Wieden + Kennedy continues to hit ‘best of decade’ charts

Welcome to Optimism is proud, delighted and a wee bit overwhelmed about the end of year/decade 'best of' lists as Wieden + Kennedy continues to pick up plaudits in the trade press roundup of the last ten years in advertising. AdWeek named WK Portland's Coca-Cola spot 'It's mine' best Superbowl ad of the last ten years.

Meanwhile, Advertising Age named WK New York's Beta 7 campaign for Sega as one of their ten best non-TV campaigns of the decade.

And Wieden + Kennedy had three entries in Ad Age's best ten TV commercials of the last ten years:

Lucy writes:

I popped down to Falmouth a couple of Fridays ago to see Chris and Rob and the
students of this years MA Creative Advertising course.

The weather down in
Cornwall was truly delightful with horizontal hailstones the size of tennis
balls, followed by a rainbow, followed by the most treacherous rain you’d every
seen. Coupled with the 2 most cantankerous pensioners in Britain, the train
journey was pretty entertaining.

But I made it in time to see the Run
London work the guys had been working on for the last few weeks. If I’m honest
I’d have liked to have seen more work but that said there were some pretty good
ideas.

The two teams that came out on top were: Ruby Harrison & Dan Evans
with the countries within a city theme and Felipe Guimaraes  & Nausheen Keen
for some great use of social media for their I hate the Tube
race.

No cantankerous old folks on the way home – shame!
