Welcome to Optimism

The long, hard road out of Helsinki: part three

Corridor

Another cheery hotel corridor, somewhere in Europe.

So, we finally made it home to London. Final leg was a flight from Paris to London, which went smoothly.

Alex and david
There was one final wrinkle as we got on the tube – signal failure on the Hamersmith and City Line meant we got stuck in the tunnel. Cheers, London Transport.

But now we're back in the office and back to work. Hurrah!

Nev says:

Firstly, I would like to
thank Emma, Zoe and Colleen (the travel gurus) for their incredible patience, assistance
and persistence in helping us get home. These have been extraordinary
circumstances, and without your help we would surely be sleeping in a Finnish bus station.

Which brings me to
the WK Helsinki – London 2010 Ash Cloud awards…

The long, hard road out of Helsinki: part two

Fritz

Picked up at Stockholm by Fritz the driver. He may not look like a mentalist, but he has a right foot of lead and a will of iron. Now for the drive across Sweden into Denmark

Busstop

Brief pitstop for refuelling.

Bridge

Big bridge between Sweden and Denmark.

Anyway, we made it as far as Paris tonight, which feels a lot closer to home.

Tomorrow – we hope – back to London.
