Nike and W+K celebrated Rafael Nadal's historic 9th French Open win, by revealing a larger-than-life sculpture of the Spaniard, created from Roland Garros clay.

On Sunday, Nadal became the first man to ever win nine singles titles in Paris when he defeated Serbian machine, Novak Djoković, thus becoming the undisputed king of clay-court tennis.

The sculpture of Nadal was installed on Monday at Cinquième Set, an exclusive tennis store in the heart of Paris, accompanied by a plaque that reads: Legends are made of different stuff.

The sculpture itself is made with clay from Roland Garros. The very clay that has helped shape Nadal's reputation, as one of the greatest to ever brandish a racket.

Fittingly, it was a pair of Spaniards who dreamt this up – Carlos Alija and Laura Sampedro.

Congratulations, Rafa.
