News of ECD Tony’s birthday turned up in newspaper The Echo, which reported, “We had to make a lifesize bust of Tony Davidson (a brilliant advertising creative executive, responsible for the Flat Eric ad/character), so I felt the pressure to get this one really perfect. Radio One’s rock DJ Dan P Carter came in to Fancy Nancy to help with the sculpture on the cake and went to work carving out the face. We spent a few days creating this piece – it was huge! I had to hire a van and get a stretcher made to carry the cake on as it was so big. It was all made of Belgian chocolate truffle torte, and there was enough to serve 300 people.Tony loved it and they had a great time hacking it to pieces.”

Nice to see that 'brilliant' Tony's still being linked to Flat Eric and gets no credit for any of the work he's done in the 15 years since that! Lovely pic of Freddie enthusiastically trying to hack off Tony's head.
