WKFC mid-season report – part two
Join us as we continue our
assessment of the Wieden + Kennedy London football team. If you
missed part one, God forbid, click here.
Freddie
‘Gary’ Powell
As creative on the pitch as he is off it, Freddie
can conjure up a goal out of nothing. Still trying to get his dignity back after
missing several games due to ‘Chess Club’.
Oscar
‘Phil’ Powell
When not running his own record label the artist
known as ‘Powell’ can be found mixing it up on the football pitch. Loves a
challenge and an off-the-ball incident. What others may describe as ‘dirty
tactics’, Oscar calls ‘public school bants’.
Joey
‘Barthomson’ Thomson
Like a puppy in the midst of a Red Bull binge Joe is
pure energy on the pitch. Even if he was playing on his own against Brazil he
wouldn’t give up the fight. Not such a gentleman on the pitch as he is off it.
Sammy
‘Ledley’ King
A hammer of a shot and terrier-like work-rate saw Sammy go on the longest unbeaten streak in the agency. Is notable for his choice of football fashion, most recently seen in a
Harchester ‘Dream Team’ United shirt.
Chris
‘Rory De’ Lapham
Had few weeks off due to a haircut-related injury
but is now back with a bang. His hold-up play and unselfish nature make him a
joy to play alongside. Will only play if he can wear his special bib.
Dom
‘Major Blazer’ Felton
The Australian Inzaghi is famed for his expert goal
hanging, loves scoring goals, hates everything else, running, defending,
passing, etc. Often claims to be the overall top goal scorer in the agency, but
no-one listens.
Ollie
‘No Tekkers’ Pym
Pym announced himself on the scene by saying ‘if I didn’t get in to advertising
I would be pulling the strings for Cardiff City’. He promptly went on a ten game
losing streak. This led to Andy ‘King of Tekkers’ Ansah, releasing this
official statement:
Ali
‘Mary Berry’ Merry
Like Rocky in the terrible Rocky Balboa (but much smaller and Scottish), Merry was coaxed out
of retirement by a young pretender, Ollie Pym. Ali, a former Sheffield United
youth, has subsequently swatted any doubts away with a string of performances
that would make even the toughest Jock weak at the kilt.
