Honda's new CR-Z is a good-looking, state-of-the-art piece of hybrid technology which officially launches across Europe on Friday.  The car has a brand new 3-mode driving system which changes the way you experience the car.

With the help of delightful director Frank Budgen, we wanted to capture these different feelings whilst making the most of the fact the car is pretty damn cool.  The campaign 'RGB' will be rolling out across Europe throughout June.

The recent ash cloud scuppered plans to deliver on time, but a lifetime's supply of coffee meant we just about pulled it out of the bag.  

To create the 60" spot, the team went to Barcelona.  The initial phase of the shoot involved Frank wandering around the city, soaking up the mood with a team in tow on mopeds who had to chase after any characters who were captured on film to sign off release forms in case they ended up being included in the final cut.

The second phase of the shoot involved shooting the CR-Z itself.  Frank wanted to direct from inside the car as much as he could – which meant removing the car's seats and ramming him into the boot.
