Life in the middle kingdom
Ian Perkins, late of this parish, writes from his new home at W+K Shanghai:
Dear London,
As I can't access many western blogs in china I won't be
reading this post.
I thought I would just send a brief update
from the Shanghai office.
Some facts:
Snow has just overtaken Bud Light as the
world's best selling beer.
China Supergirl was the most-viewed TV
program in the history of TV ever.
Snow tastes nice, Supergirl is like
American Idol (not Supergirl).
Some pictures:
First, from the amazing mask-changers of Chengdu – all I could think of was Hulk Hogan. I feel the amazingess of China
is lost on me sometimes!
Secondly, me putting “a donq on it”. Pic taken by Dom.
Thirdly, a bike covered in polystyrene – not
for protection but for recycling. Also by Dom.
Fourthly a shot, by Nick Duam, of Happy Valley with China's biggest and newest wooden roller coaster behind. Which was
great to ride.
All in all it's still a very interesting and
different experience.
Zaijian. ('Goodbye], as you may guess, as it's
at the end.)
Ian.
