So, we're working on the launch of the Nokia N86 8MP camera phone and we're about to start shooting with world-renowned photographer David Bailey.

David-bailey

In case you didn't know, he's shot the Rolling Stones, Michael Caine, the Krays and had a film (Blow-Up) based on his exploits in 'Swinging London'; more recently he's turned his lens away from the glitterati and decided instead to focus on ordinary people such as the citizens of Havana, visitors to his studio and now in conjunction with us and Nokia, the nightowls of London.

Indeed, to help bring to life the fact the camera on the Nokia N86 is particularly good at taking shots in low light, we’re using it to uncover a formerly unseen side of the capital’s nightlife, capturing people who come alive after dark.

We’ve set up a competition for one lucky member of the public to be shot by David Bailey himself (and have already been overwhelmed with entries from florists, lounge piano players, bakers and graffiti artists) – here’s an article on the competition on the BBC:

You can also win VIP tickets to the private view of the exhibition, which is taking place in the Old Dairy (where Elton John had his birthday!) near Russell Square on Wednesday 26th August.

Keep an eye on at www.aliveatnight.co.uk for details on entering the prize draw.

Alongside one lucky competition winner, the exhibition will feature a variety of nocturnal Londoners and their stories. The exhibition will also be open to the public (all day and all night) from the 27th August.

We start shooting tomorrow night and we’ll be posting photos as we go, so watch this space.
