The builders are now well into the work on the new 'east wing' of W+K Towers. Not much to look at yet but it's getting there. The fight for meeting space in the current building has become fiercer of late and working conditions now approximate to a Lord of the Flies scenario, so the team can't finish building works on the new space too soon.

JG Ballard would probably have been inspired to write a dystopian vision of an apocalyptic future based on what our working area is like just now, had he seen it. And if he hadn't recently died. (In fact, come to think of it, there's a gap in the market for a Ballardian novel of office workers gone feral, roaming the floors, scavenging toner and stationery supplies, living off yogurts and cereal looted from kitchen points, picking off lone members of rival departments left stranded in their cubicles, fighting over boxes of biros, etc, etc. Inevitably someone is now going to tell me this has already been written and is soon to be a major motion picture. "The Office crossed with Battle Royale meets Burroughs' Wild Boys" / "Keannu reeves IS the Lord of the FILES".
