Fairtrade result!
Some Fairtrade bananas yesterday: delighted to hear that W+K is now working on their behalf.
Great news: we won the pitch for the Fairtrade Foundation!
The Foundation's vision is of a world in which justice and sustainable development
are at the heart of trade structures and practices so that everyone,
through their work, can maintain a decent and dignified livelihood and
develop their full potential.
To achieve this vision, Fairtrade
seeks to transform trading structures and practices in favour of the
poor and disadvantaged. They provide independent certification of the trade chain, licensing use of the
FAIRTRADE Mark as a consumer guarantee on products. They work to grow demand for Fairtrade and enable producers to sell to traders and retailers.
Wieden + Kennedy firmly believes that businesses should try to do good, so it's a great fit with our values and we're delighted to have won this opportunity.
We'll be working with them to produce campaign materials across above the line, experiential, direct marketing and interactive channels. As well as highlighting their main aim of protecting the rights of suppliers in the developing world, we'll be working to promote their 'tipping the balance' strategy, which aims to increase the Foundation's scale and reach by 2012. We'll also be continuing the habit we developed while working on the pitch of consuming vast quantities of Fairtrade coffee and chocolate.
