perkins in shanghai: week two
Well, the sulphur smell I mentioned in my last post makes sense with the acid rain they have here. "Acid rain is sulphur and nitrogen compounds which react in the atmosphere to produce acids." At Scott's BBQ when it began raining everyone moved inside extremely fast… As if they may melt away.
I am amazed by the non-stop building and how simple and old the tools are much of it's done with.
I've been down the main shopping areas which are tokyo-esque with neon and lights all about.
As well as to Moganshan lu art district…
…and also to the shanghai museum in which I saw a lovely salmon skin suit.
I would never think of making a suit from salmon skin, and I'm supposed to be a creative.
I also helped my friend Sophie (from WK London) who is in Tokyo meet up with my good friend there, Shiho, who took Sophie out for food. They were kind enough to send me a photo – here is Sophie waving to me from the restaurant.
It's crab season here, so Liana is steaming crabs tonight, and yesterday I went for lunch with some wk'ers and had snails and frogs. Mmmmmmm. Like Paris.
