In Sao Paolo visiting DM9 DDB, who are our local partners on the Nokia business in Brazil. We were very jealous of DM9 president Sergio Valente’s fireman’s pole. This runs between Sergio’s floor (indicated not by a number but with an ‘S’ next to the appropriate button in the lift) and the floor where creatives and planners sit. Sergio can run out of his office, slide down the pole and loudly exhort everyone to win more Cannes Lions. And in the picture above, you can see him arriving at the bottom of the pole, about to do just that.
The approach seems to work as DM9 has been Cannes Agency of the Year three times.
Why haven’t we got a fireman’s pole?
