future planning
So, what do you do when you win two enormous bits of business (Nokia
and the Visa World Cup sponsorship) and one medium sized bit of
business (The Observer) in the space of a month? Well, other than
having a celebration (that’ll be tonight) you get a team of people
together to plan for how you need to structure your organisation to
manage these new demands. That’s why Neil, Tony, Kim, Sam and Stuart
(W+K London) and Jelly Helm (W+K Portland), John Jay (W+K global) and
Neil Thomson (W+K Amsterdam) are at the rather nice Chewton Glen hotel
in Hampshire for a couple of days to work out what next for Wieden +
Kennedy.
It’s been a productive session so far and we haven’t yet done
bonding, envisioning through plasticine moulding or getting naked,
hugging trees and weeping communally. All that will be later this
morning, I hope. And as a result we should have some tangible plans on
how we resource and structure the agency going forward. Our aim has
never been growth for its own sake so it’s important for us to ensure
that as we get bigger, the quality of what we do and how we work with
our clients only continues to get better. We all agreed that this can
only be achieved though having the best, smartest, most motivated and
empowered people. As you can see from the examples below, this should
be no problem for us.
Kim Papworth and Sam Brookes.
Neil Thomson and Stuart Smith.
Jelly ‘David’ Helm and Tony Davidson.
