Guardian TV - Team GB

08.01.2009 | New Work

For anyone drowning in herbal tea and bored of counting calories, The Guardian and The Observer are powering into the new year with some serious healthy-living inspriation from Britain's men and women of steel. This weekend the papers will give away their two-part Guide to Getting Fit with Britain's Medal Winners, two booklets to put you through your paces with training tips from some of Britain's 2008 Olympic team. As well as exercise plans and tips on mastering specific sporting techniques, the guides include insider information about the life of an Olympic athlete: what they eat, how they train and how they approach the psychology of preparing to compete. There are contributions from lots of British Olympians, including a handwritten training diary from swimming star Rebecca Adlington and Chris Hoy's advice for getting into track cycling.

Here's our ten-second TV spot, created by Pete Gatley and Shay Reading and creatively directed by Chris Groom, airing today.
