W+K wins March Aerial
Award

W+K London won the Aerial Award for the month's best radio ad in March with 'Humming Bird' for The Guardian. The creative team was Ida Gronblom and Fabian Berglund + the producer Anna Smith.

 

The Aerials Foundation was set up by the Radio Advertising Bureau with a mission to 'Encourage radio advertising to be proud of'.

Nike Win Best Integrated
Award

Last night W+K won Best Integrated Marketing Campaign for the Nike Run London 06 work at the Sports Industry Awards - the Oscars of the sports world.

 

It beat an illustrious list of really rather large initiatives.

 

Carlsberg - Old Lions

Coca-Cola - Total World Cup

Robinsons - 'Wimbledon'

Tesco - Sports for Schools & Clubs

Umbro - One Love

 

It was a glamorous affair with Beckham getting an outstanding contribution to sport award, presented by Sebastian Coe and Thierry Henry.

Honda choir at The
Oscars

Following his work on W+K's 'Choir' commercial for the Honda Civic, Steve Sidwell, the composer and conductor, was commissioned to create a similar choir performance for the Oscars.

 

The choir performed a live human soundtrack to a montage of film clips, using the same techniques created for the Honda ad. The performance was watched by a worldwide viewing audience of 1 billion.

BTAA

Wieden + Kennedy won three silver awards at the British Television Advertising Awards, announced on Tuesday 7th March. The awards were as follows:

 

Honda 'Museum' - silver (corporate)

Coca-Cola 'Videogame' - silver (international)

Nike 'Pretty' - silver (retail)

 

'Museum' was created by W+K London, 'Videogame' and 'Pretty' by W+K Portland.
