We’ve had two lovely interns this month, Fahmida and Irem, who were on the Good Jobs programme. Here is what they experienced and enjoyed (we hope) during their one month internship with us.

Fahmida Hannan

I was a part of the good jobs programme which allowed to me to do an internship in the company for a month! I have enjoyed my time very much here because I’ve learnt about the different departments (very cliche) but my time has been an experience which would be memorable and something really cool to talk about with my friends. Trust me they would be jealous, especially witnessing the Nike campaign. One of the things which I have really enjoyed would be helping the team with the sketches for the Orange Romania Christmas campaign. Also learning about the legal system of what would happen when advertisements are being put out so then the company isn’t being sued by anybody’s assssses (Mind the language). Most of all, the friendly environment which made us feel so welcome and acted as if we were one of the normal colleagues. GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO: Olivia Pace Tomas (Mummy figure), Holly Baker Cliff  and Charlotte Anstey (Sister figures), Roseanne Martin (Father figure). And thank you to the rest of the people which made us feel very welcomed to the company!

All I know is I can’t write this like a Tumblr post. So it won’t be as entertaining… or inappropriate. Now, I can get really sentimental and make this emotional, but where’s the fun in that? I’ve had a looooot of fun during this internship. I’ve met many, many, many people and worked with most of them in different departments. Advertising agencies have like a bajillion departments, so to be able to work in most of them was awesome, and such an eye-opener. You don’t realise until the end, when it hits you like a ton of bricks, that you have just completed an entire month’s internship. You’ve worked with more people than you probably will for a long time. You’ve also embarrassed yourself on multiple occasions and have a constant torrent of thoughts that range from ‘why the hell did I say that?’ to ‘is this offensive? Could I be kicked out for this?’. But then you hear worse and more inappropriate things from the employees and feel much better afterwards. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not all fun, games and copious amounts of alcohol- there’s a lot of work. There’s a reason this place has so many huge clients- they’re good. They’re good at what they do and always come out with some of the best adverts that I’ve seen. At the end of the day, they come out with some quality content and it has been a massive privilege to have worked here. I’ve learned so much about myself, (the terrifying vortex known as) the world of work and the amazing people here. Thank you to everyone who put up with us, especially Charlotte, Olivia, Holly and Roseanne who were our fairy god-family while we were here. Peace out.
